Deputy Speakers of the Croatian Parliament

 

 

According to constitutional provisions, the Croatian Parliament has one or more deputy speakers. The Standing Orders of the Croatian Parliament stipulate that there are two to five deputy speakers. If two deputy speakers are elected, one is nominated by the parliamentary majority and one by the parliamentary minority. If five deputy speakers are elected, three are nominated by the parliamentary majority, and two by the parliamentary minority. The Speaker and Deputy Speakers together form the Presidency of Parliament.

At the first, constituent session of the 7th Parliament, Josip Leko, Nenad Stazić and Milorad Batinić were elected Deputy Speakers, while Jadranka Kosor and Vladimir Šeks were elected Deputy Speakers at the 2nd session of the Parliament.

At the 4th plenary session, on 15 June 2012, Croatian Parliament adopted the decision to dismiss Jadranka Kosor, as proposed by the Deputy Club of the Croatian Democratic Union, and Vladimir Šeks, at his personal request.

At the 4th plenary session, on 15 June 2012, Croatian Parliament adopted the decision, as proposed by the Deputy Club of the Croatian Democratic Union, to nominate Željko Reiner and Tomislav Čuljak Deputy Speakers of Parliament.

At the 5th plenary session, on 10 October 2012, Croatian Parliament adopted the decision, as proposed by the Deputy Club of the Social Democratic Party, Deputy Club of the Croatian People's Party - Liberal Democrats, Deputy Club of Istrian Democratic Assembly, Deputy Club of Croatian Party of Pensioners, Deputy Club of the Independent Democratic Serbian Party and Deputy Club of National Minorities to nominate Dragica Zgrebec Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
