Parliament speakers say Croatia-Kosovo relations friendly

Zagreb - Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković and his Kosovo counterpart Kadri Veseli said in Zagreb on Wednesday the two countries had very good and friendly relations which had been raised to the level of friendship and cooperation in the ten years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Jandroković and Veseli agreed the two countries were willing to intensify their relations, notably in the economy, but also in other areas of common interest, such as Croatia sharing its experience in Euro-Atlantic integration.

Jandroković said the Croatian parliament was willing to continue to share its experience in institutional alignment with European Union membership terms. The two officials welcomed the establishment of inter-parliamentary friendship groups, which are expected to play a significant role in the strengthening of relations.

They also talked about the status of ethnic minorities. The Kosovo Albanian minority in Croatia is a model of a well-integrated community, it was said. Jandroković said the Croatian community in Kosovo was of special importance to Croatia, and asked for help and cooperation in preserving it and its identity in Kosovo. (Office of the Speaker/Hina)
