Petrov, Bushati call for stepping up Croatia-Albania cooperation

Zagreb - Croatia's Parliament Speaker Božo Petrov and the visiting Albanian Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati on Thursday held talks in Zagreb and underscored that Croatia and Albania were strengthening their cooperation in many spheres, notably in regional infrastructure projects, according to a press release issued by the Office of the Sabor Speaker.

Petrov and Bushati agreed that the two countries were developing excellent bilateral relations and that they were committed to deepening cooperation in all areas of common interest, such as economic cooperation in energy, transport connections of seaports and establishment of air services.

The two officials pointed to continuation of bilateral cooperation within regional infrastructure projects, including the construction of an Adriatic-Ionian Motorway and Adriatic-Ionian oil pipeline. Bushati, who arrived in Zagreb on Thursday for a two-day official visit, was also received by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and his counterpart Croatian Foreign Minister Davor Ivo Stier.
