Three candidates meet requirements for new Information Commissioner

Zagreb - Parliament's Information and Media Committee on Thursday sent the Constitution, Standing Orders and Political System Committee the opinion that all three candidates for the post of new Information Commissioner meet the requirements - Anita Markić, Dubravka Bevandić and Nikola Kristić.

The final candidate will be nominated by the Constitution, Standing Orders and Political System Committee and Parliament will vote on the nominee at a plenary, Information and Media Committee chair Josip Borić said.

The Information and Media Committee reached its opinion after yesterday's joint session with the Constitution, Standing Orders and Political System Committee at which the three applicants were heard.

Markić heads the Justice Ministry Directorate for Political System and General Administration, Bevandić is the incumbent Deputy Information Commissioner and heads the Service for the Protection of the Right to Access Information, and Kristić is a journalist and editor with the HRT public broadcaster.
