Zagreb - Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandroković visited the Istrian town of Buzet on Saturday, meeting Mayor Damir Kajin to discuss major infrastructure projects.
Kajin said the meeting covered a range of topics important to citizens, highlighting the modernisation of the railway line from the Croatian-Slovenian border to Sveti Petar u Šumi. He described it as the largest infrastructure project in Istra after the Istrian Y motorway.
Jandroković called Istria a symbol of success, hard work and tolerance, noting its position as one of Croatia's most successful tourist regions. He opened the Istrian Truffle Festival, praising it as a platform for experience-sharing, business opportunities and tasting local truffle-based products.
After the meeting, Kajin praised the city's collaboration with the government as highly successful, noting that the current relationship surpasses even his time as part of the governing majority. He added that the government's relationship with other IDS- or SDP-governed municipalities in Istria is not significantly different either.
