High-level state delegations lay wreaths to mark Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day

Zagreb - High-level state delegations laid wreaths at Zagreb's Mirogoj Cemetery on Monday, marking Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day, Croatian Defenders' Day and the 19th anniversary of Operation Storm.

The government delegation was headed by Veterans' Affairs Minister Predrag Matic, who said: "On this occasion we remember the most glorious days in the recent history of Croatia and all our friends. We are here today to express our gratitude, because Operation Storm ended the war and brought peace, and tomorrow we will do the same in Knin."

The delegation of the President of the Republic was headed by the Armed Forces Chief of Staff, General Drago Lovric, while the Croatian Parliament delegation was led by MP Gordana Sobol. The wreath-laying ceremony was also attended by delegations of the Ministry of the Interior, the Armed Forces General Staff, the Police Directorate and veterans' organisations. (Hina)
