President calls early parliamentary elections on September 11

Zagreb - President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović decided on Saturday that early parliamentary elections will be held on Sunday, September 11. 

Elections in Croatia will be held on Sunday, September 11 and in Croatian diplomatic and consular officers abroad on Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11.

This will be the 9th parliamentary elections since Croatia gained independence and the second in which voters will use the preferential vote, meaning that they will be able to circle the name of the candidate they prefer in relation to other candidates on the slate. 

A total of 151 members of parliament will be elected -- 140 in ten constituencies in Croatia, three will be elected by the diaspora, namely Croatian citizens living abroad and eight seats will be given to representatives of ethnic minorities. (Hina)
