Croatian Parliament Speaker, Swiss president meet

Zagreb - Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković and Swiss President Ueli Maurer said in Zagreb on Friday that Croatian expatriates were well integrated in Switzerland and that they could help to boost economic cooperation.

The two officials have said that Croatian expatriates are well-integrated in Swiss society, that they represent an important link between the two countries and can contribute to the further deepening of economic relations. 

Jandroković and Maurer also said they were pleased with the increase in trade and the number of Swiss tourists in Croatia.

They noted that Croatian-Swiss relations were friendly and that bilateral cooperation was excellent in many areas.

They also said there were many areas with potential for economic cooperation such as the pharmaceutical, food and electronics industries as well as enogastronomy and tourism.

Jandroković informed Maurer of the programme and priorities of Croatia's EU presidency in the first half of 2020. They also exchanged opinions on current European issues.
