Jandroković meets European Court of Auditors member Ivana Maletić

Zagreb - Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković met European Court of Auditors (ECA) member Ivana Maletić, who presented the court’s 2025 annual report.

Jandroković welcomed continued cooperation between parliament and the ECA during Maletić's second term, and said regular presentations of annual reports helped ensure transparency in EU financial management and improve public understanding of how EU funds were used and their impact.

Maletić said this year's report was particularly important amid negotiations on the EU's 2028-2034 multiannual financial framework, as it assessed budget implementation and offered important guidance for shaping the bloc's future budget.

Both stressed that EU budget implementation required robust oversight, clearly defined objectives and accountability for results, with independent external audits playing a key role in transparency, accountability and the efficient use of EU funds.

Jandroković added that effective financial management was essential to maintaining public trust in EU institutions and delivering tangible benefits to member states.
