Zagreb - Parliament Speaker Josip Leko on Tuesday received Romania's President Klaus Werner Iohannis who is on a two-day official visit to Croatia and during the talks they underscored the excellent relations between the two parliaments which are soon to be formalised.

The two countries have excellent political relations and they need to enhance their economic relations. The same goes for the entire region of Southeast Europe as economic progress would mean greater stability, Iohannis said.

Cooperation between the two parliaments is excellent and will most likely be formalised soon, Leko stressed. Both officials expressed their will to continue their cooperation by introducing new models, such as joint efforts in strengthening democratic standards in this part of Europe.
