Zagreb - The Croatian parliament on Friday unanimously elected Mišel Jakšić as a Deputy Speaker, thereby confirming the internal decision of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to replace Peđa Grbin, who has recently been elected Mayor of Pula and decided to resign as a Sabor Deputy Speaker.
Sabor Speaker Gordan Jandroković thanked MP Grbin for his cooperation and wished Jakšić, the mayor of Koprivnica, success in his new position.
At the same session, Jakšić, at his own request, was relieved of his duties as a member of the State Judicial Council (DSV), and was replaced by his party colleague Saša Đujić. Parliament appoints two MPs to the DSV, and alongside Jakšić, Željko Lacković, an independent MP, was appointed last year.
