Zagreb - Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković on Monday congratulated Sara Kolak on winning the European javelin title at the Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
"On behalf of the Croatian Parliament and personally, I warmly congratulate you on becoming European javelin champion in Birmingham. Ten years after winning Olympic gold in Rio de Janeiro, you have returned to the podium at a major championship – a fitting reward for all your hard work, sacrifice and perseverance," the Sabor Speaker wrote in his message.
"This comeback, after the many challenges you have faced throughout your career, is testament to your strength, perseverance and belief in your abilities."
Jandroković added that Kolak’s gold medal had made Croatians proud and inspired younger generations, wishing her continued health, motivation and sporting courage as she pursues further success.
Croatia bagged two medals at the 27th European Athletics Championships held from 10 to 16 August in Birmingham: a gold and a silver.
Croatian record holder Marino Bloudek won silver in the 800m final at the championships in Birmingham last Thursday.
