Croatian Parliament Speaker talks to Turkish investors in Istanbul

Istanbul - Croatian Parliament Speaker Josip Leko in Istanbul on Thursday held talks with several Turkish businessmen, who have already invested in Croatia, and discussed future investment plans, sources in the Croatian delegation on a visit to Turkey. A dinner organised by the Croatian Ambassador in Turkey, Drazen Hrastic, was attended by representatives of Dogus, Suezer and Rixos groups. 

The head of the tourism and sales department at Dogus Group, Naci Beserdem, said the company had so far invested EUR 200 million in three Croatian marinas and hotels, adding that their latest acquisition was Villa Dubrovnik. Dogus Group in Croatia employs about 250 workers and its objective is to invest another 75 million euros in hotels in Zadar and Sibenik and hire another 400 Croatians by mid 2015. 

The head of operations and development in Rixos hotels, Volkan Simsek, said that along with the existing hotel in Dubrovnik, the group planned to open a hotel in Zagreb in the near future. A member of the Suezer Group management board, Hakan Oezguez, expressed interest in expanding cooperation in the banking sector. Suezer Group owns Kentbank which is already doing business in Croatia.
