Hanukkah's message is light will win over darkness, says Parliament Speaker

Zagreb - Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković on Thursday extended greetings to Jewish believers in Croatia on the occasion of Hanukkah, saying that Hanukkah's message is that light will win over darkness.

"Hanukkah always tells us that light will win over darkness, regardless of high difficult and insurmountable the challenges and setbacks seem. That message of hope is especially important for all the downtrodden and endangered across the world as well as for all our neighbours in need," Jandroković said.

The holidays, he added, "encourage us to work together more strongly in building a society with more solidarity and mutual respect as well as to a more harmonious life. At the same time, they also remind us of the contribution each individual can make towards achieving the common good and a just peace, everywhere in the world."

"Therefore may this year's holiday of light, along with the blessing of health and strong faith, bring plenty of joy and so-much needed peace to all Jewish believers, their families and friends. Happy Hanukkah. Chag Hanukkah Sameach!" said Jandroković.
