Jandroković calls for closer Croatia-Sweden parliamentary cooperation

Zagreb - Interparliamentary cooperation should be strengthened and deepened through regular meetings and discussions, Swedish Deputy Parliament Speaker Ewa Thalen Finne, Swedish parliamentary officials and Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković agreed at talks held on the first day of his official visit to Sweden, which ended with Jandrokovic's meeting the mayor of Stockholm and the minister for migration.

Jandroković and the Croatian parliamentary delegation he is heading earlier in the day met with Thalen Finne and members of the Swedish-Croatian interparliamentary friendship group and members of the parliamentary committees on foreign and European affairs, the Croatian parliament's press service said.

The Croatian delegation and their hosts discussed current topics and EU prospects as well as the Croatian and Swedish parliaments' priorities in European affairs. Jandroković ended the first day of his two-day reciprocal visit to Sweden by meeting with Stockholm Mayor Eva-Louise Erlandsson Slorach and Minister for Migration Helena Fritzon.

Jandroković and Erlandsson Slorach discussed urban development projects of the Swedish capital as well as cooperation between Zagreb and Stockholm, and Jandrokovic invited the mayor to visit Croatia and Zagreb. Jandrokovic and Fritzon discussed Europe's migration policy, with Jandroković saying that admission to the Schengen area of passport-free movement was a priority for Croatia and seeking Sweden's support in that regard.
