Jandroković: I will work on fostering constitutional values

Zagreb - The newly-elected Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Gordan Jandroković of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), said in his inaugural address on Friday that he would work on fostering the basic constitutional values, political pluralism, the rule of law, the protection of human and minority rights, mutual respect and ethical behaviour.

He said that the election of the Parliament Speaker ensured the continuity of Parliament's work, adding that he expected that after the forthcoming local elections, scheduled for May 21, the prime minister would nominate four ministers to fill the posts vacated by former ministers from the Bridge party.

Jandroković called on lawmakers to support common goals, including maintaining political stability, show responsibility, respect and tolerance, accept differences and refrain from offensive language. (Hina)
