Zagreb - Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said in Parliament on Wednesday that, unlike those who seek division in the society rather than solutions in every crisis, his cabinet strives for unity, stability, and progress.
"Croatia is not guided by pessimism, but by trust and responsibility," said the Prime Minister as he presented to Parliament an annual report on the performance of his government.
This is Plenković's second State of the Nation Address in his third term and the ninth overall since he became Prime Minister.
The premier stressed that the government does not believe it has solved all problems or that everything it does is perfect, but that it is working hard to ensure a better standard of living for citizens and to make the economy more resilient.
Responding to the Opposition, which used procedural breaks to criticise the government for allegedly leading the country in the wrong direction and being out of touch with everyday life, Plenković replied that this was not true.
"Someone who has had the honour of leading Croatia for nine years certainly knows what life is like in this country," he said.
5 priorities
The annual report was structured around five priorities of the government’s agenda: an economically strong and resilient Croatia; a Croatia that encourages demographic renewal and social inclusion; a digitally advanced and educated Croatia; a green and sustainable Croatia; and a secure and internationally respected Croatia.
