Parliament Speaker extends Easter greetings

Zagreb - Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković extended his Easter greetings on Saturday.

In his Easter message to all Christian believers, Jandroković said the essence of the Christian faith and its meaning are most powerfully embodied in Easter.

“Jesus’s victory over death, the triumph of Light over Darkness, is for believers the most reliable guarantee that good will ultimately overcome evil. In globally uncertain times such as these, this message of encouragement is especially important, particularly for those suffering injustice or any form of oppression, as well as for all those who await Easter in unrest, uncertainty, or sorrow, wherever they may be in the world.”

As believers, we are always called upon to carry the Easter message of hope and live it daily, through concrete acts towards all those in need of our solidarity and mercy, which applies particularly to those Christians who have chosen politics or any other public calling as a means of contributing to their own society and the common good, Jandroković said.

He emphasised that this Easter is special because it is being celebrated together by all Christians, both those who follow the Gregorian calendar and those who observe the Julian.

In our shared faith in Christ’s resurrection, we must all seek the firmest foundation for life, a source of inner strength, and an inspiration for unity that empowers and prepares us for the many challenges of the future, Jandroković said.

With encouragement to always build our society and families - the foundation of that society - as a place of harmonious coexistence, may this Easter bring an abundance of blessings, love, peace and joy to everyone in Croatia, he added.
