Zagreb - Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković met with Canadian Senate Speaker George Furey in Ottawa on Tuesday and they confirmed the high level of the partner and friendly relations between the two countries.
The two officials said both countries were willing to boost economic cooperation, agreeing that the numerous Croatian emigrants living in Canada were an important link for boosting economic relations.
They emphasised the need to intensify economic cooperation in light of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement which the Croatian parliament ratified in June and which is expected to have a positive effect on Canada-Croatia trade.
Jandroković and Furey also discussed global issues of cooperation in the security and defence policy as well as global trade. (Hina/Press Office)
